World’s Largest Association of Recovery and Remarketing Professionals Concludes Successful First Series of Collateral Recovery and Remarketing Accreditation Program

American Recovery Association’s Program Trains and Certifies Lenders, Members and Members’ Employees

DALLAS, March 15, 2010 – American Recovery Association, Inc. (ARA), the world’s largest association of recovery and remarketing professionals, celebrates a successful first series of its new Collateral Recovery and Remarketing Accreditation Program in nine cities across the U.S.

The accreditation program completed successful programs in Charlotte, North Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia; Birmingham, Alabama; Jacksonville, Florida; Orlando, Florida; Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; San Diego, California; Phoenix, Arizona; and sold out classes in Dallas, Texas before the 2011 North American Repossessors Summit (www.reposummit.com).

“We are pleased this program has been a rewarding experience to our members and partners,” said Les McCook, executive director of ARA. “ARA strives to produce the most professional, trained and certified recovery agents, and this program is another step towards better industry standards.”

Focused on innovation, education and its Best In Class approach, ARA developed the accreditation program to provide its members with the opportunity to become a Certified Asset Recovery Specialist (CARS) by attending a day of classes covering industry topics such as business ethics, data security, online collateral remarketing and skip tracing. The lenders curriculum included the Collection Training Consultants program, taught by nationally recognized trainer, Steve Peterson. Lenders and ARA members, along with their employees, had simultaneous classes covering various subjects. The program also included a networking luncheon for all participants.

“ARA’s accreditation program properly trains and certifies participants, which is vital to a lender’s and recovery agent’s business,” said Joe McOwen, president of ARA. “Participants walked away with valuable information easy to implement in their company.”
