CORPUS CHRISTI — The owner of a 2006 Pontiac is suspected of running over the Victoria couple trying to repossess the vehicle, police said.
The couple was hooking the car to their tow truck about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at an apartment complex in the 4000 block of Schanen Boulevard, according to a news release.
A woman, who police believe is the car’s owner, got into the car and tried to drive away, striking the man and knocking the woman down, police said. She backed up and ran over the woman’s leg while trying to escape.
The woman was taken to Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline.
The driver ran into an apartment building, leaving the car behind before police arrived, said Capt. Todd Green.
The car was impounded. The police plan to file for a warrant for the driver’s arrest, he said.
