My husband and I have recently and FINALLY aquired insurance for our repo business, like you all, we found it very frustrating starting this business, more so because there are many steps that come along starting this type of company. We are now ready to work and are now in the stage of marketing our business to financial instituions and the likes. It took about a year (or a little more)to really get the ball rolling on everything we still are pushing forward and not giving up. For those with the dream of starting up a Repo Company, good luck and don’t give up, as we have learned..when one door closes there are many more open, do a lot of research and if it all seems overwhealming,then that is the story that will make your dreams a better story to tell. As i told my husband…take that first step, once you do, the rest of the steps will come easily…and it has. We still have work to do…and we are looking forward to the hard work ahead. Hello i am trying to start my own repossession company or just start by being a repossession agent. I do not know where to start. I live in michigan and i have been trying to find all the laws and regulations here but no luck. I would like some info on where to start because i have no experience. Thank you

I’m also interested in starting a repossession business, but in Wichita Kansas. I would like some info on the Kansas repo laws,licensing, and where to start. I have purchesed the first Repo 101 handbook, but they make it sound so easy. Is it that easy? Can you start with out a truck? Do you need your own secured lot? There are six recovery agencies in the local area. Is that to many? Any info would be helpful. Thanks, Jeff

I am also looking to start my own asset recovery business, but in New York. I have worked in the industry before, and I have wanted to start my own company for a long time but the biggest problem I run into is “time”. Everyone seems to want you to have 2 years as a manager or owner of a company or something like that but what if you haven’t had the oppertunity. I want to do this right. I want to be certified, insured, involved, but I don’t have the “2 years” everyone seems to want. What can I do to get myself going in the right direction? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I am interested in starting a repossession business in Oklahoma. I have looked all over internet not able to find very much info. I would like info on oklahoma repossession laws, what is needed to learn, licensing needed for oklahoma. Any info would helpful. I am ready to start right away.
