November passes us by with yet another fatality of a fellow Field Agent  Brandon Thomas and his partner Willie Thackston, who is recovering from the attack.

What is wrong with this world? Field Agents are out there only to do their jobs.

It’s a piece of metal for goodness sake, something that is definitely not worth getting hurt over, let alone losing a life over.  They have apprehended the attacker and one would hope that justice will prevail, but it needs to prevail the legal way and not ‘an eye for an eye etc.,’ as I read recently the comment made by an industry colleague. …more…

Have you ever stopped to think about the impression you and/or your office staff makes on someone who calls your office? I’ve made long-lasting relationships with clients and even lost a few because of how they felt our staff treated them. Have you ever thought about how you and/or your office staff communicate or don’t effectively communicate with clients? Have you ever asked your clients for feedback about your communication style? When’s the last time you stopped to think about your employees’ training? Did you train them? When did you last train them? How often do you use opportunities (like the terribly unfortunate incident in Atlanta, Georgia where one recovery agent was brutally murdered and his colleague was severely injured) to train your employees? A refresher course counts as training. I’ve been in business for more than 20 years and it never ceases to amaze me that keeping certain basic principles at the forefront of our business keeps our company thriving – even during difficult economic times. …more…
