ROSSVILLE —A local resident was not happy Wednesday night when one of his vehicles was repossessed.

David Hilliger, 58, of rural Rossville, was arrested by Vermilion County deputies on charges of armed violence, aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon.

According to the sheriff’s department, Hilliger shot out the tire of a wrecker being used to repossess one of his vehicles at about 11:14 p.m. Wednesday at his home.

He also was accused of threatening the men taking the vehicle, a claim he denied to deputies.

No one was injured in the incident.
