A repossession man miraculously escaped serious injury this morning when he was shot four times by a masked gunman on the city’s west side.
Two bullets grazed the 41-year-old Brownstown Township man’s head, and one hit him in the chest, Detroit Police 2nd Deputy Chief John Roach said. He was in temporary serious condition at an area hospital and expected to make a full recovery, Roach said.
“He’s an exceptionally lucky man,” Roach said after the shooting at about 8:15 a.m.
The repo man was in the process of taking a car on Grand River Avenue when the gunman, wearing a gray or tan ski mask, shot him, Roach said. The repo man ran into a business across the street at 18577 Grand River and employees called police. The gunman had not been caught as of 9:30 a.m. today.
Anyone with information is asked to call Detroit Police Northwest District detective bureau.
