A chase by Aurora police and Kane County sheriff’s deputies led to several charges against a 35-year-old Aurora man at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aurora police said.
Gregory Huston, of the 1400 block of Jericho Circle, was charged with felony concealment of collateral to avoid repossession and misdemeanor counts of aggravated assault, reckless driving, and no insurance, police said.
Aurora police assisted a repossession company in their attempt to take a vehicle registered to Huston from his home. When officers arrived, they found Huston sitting in the car with the engine running, police said.
When the repossession employees attempted to serve him with legal papers, he drove off and nearly hit a police officer, police said. The pursuit ended when Aurora police laid down stop strips at Galena Boulevard and View Street.
Huston tried to evade the strips and ended up losing control of the car and crashing into a utility pole, plant holder and a building in the 400 block of West Galena Boulevard, police said. There were no injuries.
