An Olmsted Falls trucker who thought someone stole his dump truck when he stopped to get gasoline later discovered it had been repossessed.
Donald Johnson, 56, stopped to get gas at 10:51 a.m. Tuesday at the Meijer station, 4702 Milan Road, according to a Perkins police report. He went in to pay and when he returned, his 2002 Kenworth was gone.
Johnson had fallen behind on his payments, and the truck was repossessed by Mark Lacek of North Star Recovery, said Sgt. Vince Donald of the Perkins police.
Lacek told police he’d been attempting to repossess the vehicle for days. Johnson makes frequent stops at a local quarry and Lacek had been following him, Donald said.
“They said they made four trips with him, and that was the first time they had seen him out of the truck,” Donald said.
