Son wanted for taking truck
LeFlore County Deputy Joshua Cranfield responded to a call on May 4 concerning a stolen vehicle. According to the affidavit, Paul Statham stated his son, Kevin, Statham, had taken the vehicle without permission.
The report states that the pickup had been left at the residence for use by a carpenter. When the carpenter arrived the vehicle was not at the residence and he contacted Helen Statham because the son had allegedly threatened on several occasions to rob his parents. It was discovered during the investigation that the home had been broken into and the spare key to the vehicle was missing.
On May 6 Cranfield obtained a statement from an employee at a Fort Smith car dealership. The employee stated that the dealership had recently repossessed a vehicle from Kevin Statham. The employee reportedly said that when Statham arrived to gather his belongings from the repossessed vehicle he was driving a vehicle matching the description of the pickup that had been stolen from Paul Statham. According to court records a warrant for Statham’s arrest remains outstanding.
