A South Carolina couple accused of running down an Augusta man with their tow truck pleaded not guilty to murder charges Friday afternoon.

Michael Faron Brown, 27, and Victoria Nichole Brown, 20, both of Gaston, are accused of running over William Jacobs with their tow truck April 9 while trying to repossess a vehicle from a Martinez home.

Mr. Brown also is charged with aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, and Mrs. Brown also is charged with battery.

Mr. Brown is being held in the Columbia County Detention Center without bond. Mrs. Brown is being held on a $50,000 bond, according to jail records.
