Truck Purchased From City Caught in Repo Mix-Up

Woman buys company truck from City of Memphis auction

Repo man tows away truck says bank owns it

Document shows truck scheduled for repossession before sale date at auction

(Memphis 06/10/2009) – Kristen Gregory and her family own Levee Auto Parts on North 2nd St. in Memphis. They make the trip every Tuesday to the City of Memphis Vehicle Storage lot to restock their parts. That’s when cars and trucks are auctioned to the public. Some are junk. Some are not. That’s why she kept the ’94 Chevy she bought in April as a company delivery truck.

Gregory said, “We took it home put new tires, oil change, spark plugs a bunch of parts and stuff in it. We took it home so no one would get confused and take parts off of it.”

They moved it off their lot but that didn’t keep the truck from getting caught in a mix-up. It got towed away by a repo man. Her father saw him, load it on a wrecker and drive off.
