A man fleeing a repossession agent rammed a police car in Levin this morning, knocking it out of operation.
The repossession agent called police shortly before 11am to say a man had fled a Levin property driving a vehicle that was supposed to be repossessed.
Police then received several complaints about the person’s driving.
Police caught up with the vehicle but the driver did not stop.
Police said as they were pursuing the driver into Kimberley Rd, he “deliberatedly rammed” a police car, “rendering it inoperable”.
Another police car continued the pursuit for some time, before abandoning it because of the man’s driving.
A 19-year-old Levin man was arrested in Levin a short time later, police said.
He will face driving charges in Levin District Court.
